An hour's hydrofoil ferry ride brings you to the historical Portuguese enclave ¡V Macau, which reverted to Chinese sovereignty in December 1999. Macau is world famous for its rich culture and heritage. The start of this fascinating trip is to Penha Hill for a magnificent view of the city. Continue the tour to the A-Ma Temple, the oldest temple in Macau, constructed in the Ming Dynasty to commemorate the sacred sea goddess who blesses the fishermen of Macau. Macau Tower is one of the most interesting modern buildings in the city, the 10th highest freestanding tower in the world and the 8th tallest in Asia. Soaring into the sky, the tower provides a stunning view of the Pearl River Delta. Situated at the northern most point of Macau, the Barrier Gate (built in 1870) marks the border with China. The blue tiles on the sidewalls and the poem of the Portuguese Poet (Camoes) beautifully depict the history of Macau. Shopping in the local stalls and enjoying a lunch in a local restaurant as well as exploring the Leal Senado Square followed by a visit to the famous Ruins of St. Paul¡¦s Cathedral will allow you to experience the culture and history of Macau. A casino visit will be scheduled if time allows. You will return to Hong Kong by turbojet and transfer back to the hotel to end this unforgettable trip.
